Also DFSR is needed for the SYSVOL replication (on Windows >= 2008).

Yeah you are right Frs is being phase out by Microsoft and it was a nightmare full of bugs and DFSR is the way to go so I will be closing the my FRS request or you can close it.

I think that we should not prioritaly spend time on FRS as it is a phased out techno. Even if we plan to support w2k level and w2k3 level the target is too keep the pace with w2k8 and w2k8r2.

For the "old" version a rsync solution should be a not so bad solution.

Sorry for closing this report, it is still better to have this separated. So mark this only for "DFSR support and the SYSVOL share".
Add a dependency to bug 5131 since this one is needed to have this fixed.
