Description Jason Waters 2004-02-13 07:48:36 UTC
The setting "winbind use default domain = yes", doesn't work in the newest
version of samba. Worked in 3.0.1!

Here is the error:
[2004/02/13 10:30:17, 10] lib/username.c:user_in_list(525)
  user_in_list: checking user |TDOMAIN+jwaters| against |jwaters|

My smb.conf contains these values:
  winbind enum users = yes
  winbind enum groups = yes
winbind use default domain = yes
  winbind separator = +

In order to resolve this problem, on each share where I had valud users =
jwaters, I replaced it with valid users = TDOMAIN+jwaters

This was a design decision. Allowing no qualified
winbind names in smb.conf caused too many other things
to break. It was discussed openly on the samba-technical.

Sorry. Should have been noted in the release notes.
It's omission was anb oversight.
