Description Matthew Stapleton 2013-05-01 08:42:47 UTC
I have setup two virtual server personalities using port 445 with the %i macro. One ip address uses "security mode = share" and the other ip address uses "security mode = user". The share mode server keeps asking for a password though. Using different workgroups also doesn't seem to work. I have it working on Windows 7 clients and older with the TCP port 139 method to provide guest access to a share on one personality, while providing authenticated access to the other personality, but this method no longer works with Windows 8 so I have tried to setup the port 445 method without success.
