The Samba-Bugzilla – Bug 8870
"kernel oplocks" is not a share specific option
Last modified: 2013-01-11 15:18:50 UTC
With kernel oplocks being a global option only, users cannot benefit from Level 2 Oplocks on Linux (and IRIX) when the have a mixture of shares that require cross-protocol oplock breaks or not.
Would be better to make this option share-specific

Proposed patch (as in master)
This is a new feature. I don't think we should put new features into 3.6 and put that into the next major release.
That's a new feature that should not go into a stable release I think.
Was fixed with Samba 4.0
