Description Florian Effenberger 2003-12-05 13:11:39 UTC
(I consider this a major issue, because password changing could be rendered
completely useless with this setting)

SWAT always clears the passwd chat command. I try to save the following command

"*New\sUNIX\spassword:*" %n\n "*Retype\snew\sUNIX\spassword:*" %n\n "*\npasswd:
password updated successfully*"

Upon "Save changes", these settings get saved correctly to smb.conf. But the
input field of the passwd chat command is empty from now on, so any new save of
the configuration completely deletes the passwd setting.

We will look at this some time. It's not an operational bug as it does not
affect Samba operation. I agree that this bug is not nice and should be fixed.

I have down-graded the severity level, but am leaving it on the todo list.

Thanks for reporting it.
