as above windows xp cannont print to shared printer even thought correct diver 
(corporate) is intalled

I need a lot more detail on this.  What do you mean 
by "can't print"?  Please include any errors messages
as well.

wont print means just that the win xp client cannont print 
to the printer shared thugh samba on the G5 (ibm ppc 950)

not too helpful I'm afraid.  What makes you think is is a 
source bug rather than a configuration error?  

Does the print job show up in the spool directory \
on the Samba server ?  Does the client display an error 
message?  Are you really using 3.0.0.rc2 ?  If so, 
please test 3.0.1rc1 released on 12/4/2003.
