If I run 'ldbsearch -H /path/to/typo', ldbsearch creates an empty LDB database with the name 'typo'. ldbsearch should instead throw an error.

Fixed in ldb-1.1.30 by commit 35f92b82b5e919a2736aec8560ea9c4c7dc4bb7a
