Description Csaba Toth 2010-04-21 06:41:08 UTC
the situation: i have a common share, where i have user and group use force. Every user have a private directory, the client computers have XP. If a user create a new file at his/hew home share, than the file in the linux filesystem will belongs to his/her unix account. If he/she make a copy of the file at XP from the home directory to the common share, than the new file user and group won't change, it will have the same with the file in the home directory.

The server has ext4, Gentoo Linux and 2.6.33 kernel.

Ehm sorry new info, my collegue said she not copying the file, this happens with Excel files, she opens it from the home share, and do save as, and saves into the common share. but after this she cannot read it anymore, because the file in the linux filesystem have wrong rights (it belongs to her account, not to the force user and force group accounts what the share has).

one more thing: we are setted up ACLs used in the files at home dirs, and these ACLs are copied too.
