Description Ulf Bengtner 2010-02-20 06:24:59 UTC
Setup:
Ubuntu server with Samba 3.4.5
Windows 7 (64bit) Ultimate Client

On the server I have a private share (RW access) that I have marked for offline access in the client. Sync operation works fine after I upgraded to 3.4.5. However, after standby (or switch user) on the client, the folder never comes back in online state. If I disable offline access I can access the share (online) after a delay of 10-20s after resume from standby. On the server I can notice a new access attempt from the client watching the output from smbstatus (a new PID on the list), but still the folder on the client remains offline.

If I enable public access for the share, I come back online after resume.

It seems like this problem is solved in 3.5.0_rc3. At least it worked with one private share. Will continue with some more testing with multiple shares and accounts.

I have tested with multiple private shares as well and jumped back and forth between different accounts, and also suspended the workstation. 3.5.0_rc3 works all right. 3.4.5 don't. So I can confirm the problem is solved in the upcoming release.
