Description Frank Mayer 2003-10-17 17:16:10 UTC
Hello there,
I don't know if it is ment to be like this but changing a users password as
root doesn't initiate the synchronizing to the passwd if unix sync is turned on.
While this works fine at the user's end the administrator cannot reset a
password in one move, he has to first change it in passwd and then in
smbpasswd. That of course could be handled externally by a script, but I
thought it would be more complete to work directly from within samba.
Keep up the good work!!
Best Regards
Frank Mayer

This is by design. UNIX password sync is only invoked
when the password change goes through smbd.
