Description Peter Alfieri 2009-03-27 08:50:19 UTC
I tried my best to resolve this issue by searching all over the internet. Unfortunately I was unable to resolve this problem. I've done testparm and my configuration file is fine, in fact I can view my Ubuntu/Linux files fine from my 2008 Enterprise server. If I use the smb:// command in nautilus I can view the 2008 server files fine. For some reason, samba isn't allowing me to view my 2008 Server files on my SGI(Running Ubuntu 8.10). It seems like nautilus is unable to mount the location.

I'm confused. What are "2008 Server files on my SGI(Running Ubuntu 8.10)"? Is it an Ubuntu server (and therefore presumably running Samba for SMB file serving), or is it a Windows 2008 Server?

Please also attach a packet capture showing the attempt to connect to the server to which you can't connect. Use a command like this to obtain the packet capture:

  tcpdump -s 0 -w /tmp/sgi-failure.pcap

change component to libsmbclient for now, until there's more detail that might move it elsewhere
