Description Kohler (dead mail address) 2008-10-27 07:04:53 UTC
Hello!
I encountered a problem that I receive an error message: "failed with error nt_status_wrong_password" when a user is setting a password including the "§" character. The password was set using the smbpasswd program in a bash shell over a ssh session. The connection attemt was done using a winxp sp1 computer.
The samba server is running on a Suse Linux 10.3
With my best regards
Christian Kohler

We got the same Problem on OES-Linux1-Server
Server=[Samba 3.0.26a-0.7-1616-SUSE-SLES9]
WE get those troubles while trying to mount a share with -t cifs. Mounting the same share using -t smbfs works fine

Not an ntlm_auth bug, reassigning.
Comment 3 Björn Jacke 2021-01-04 17:13:35 UTC
please reopen if this is still an issue with recent supported samba versions
