Request for an enhancement, for I have two servers, one running Samba, one running NetATalk. A user "tygris" is on both of them.

A MacOS X Leopard client confuses the two "tygris" shares, and defaults to the Samba share.

I'd like to have an option of overriding the share name for all homes, allowing for a prefix or postfix around the username:

   home share name = "redwolf-%S"

Default is "%S" or old behavior. When defined in this example, home shares would be named "redwolf-tygris" for user "tygris".

such an option is overkill and unneeded complexity to put in smbd. Apart of that you can probably also solve this with a [%U-foo] share name definition.

Geesh, 12+ years. I had forgotten about this one.

Add onto that the fact that MacOS has switched to using TCP/IP/SMB and dropped AppleTalk networking. It now makes this request moot.

Keeping it RESOLVED/WONTFIX
