Description Ralf Weinert (dead mail address) 2008-08-01 01:06:50 UTC
Trying to start the smbd on a HP-UX fails as the daemon always says that it is not able to open secret.tdb although it was copied from an older Samba version.

Is it not allowed to copy the files from the private directory? I had always updated in this way to a newer Samba Version without any problems.

I attached a logfile.

That's weird. What is the Samba version you created the secrets.tdb with?

I don't remember where, but this one was resolved by HP: They had an invalid patch to tdb that caused this.
