in the manpage of smb.conf the explanation of the option "os level"
reads "Please refer to chapter 9 of the Samba-3 HOWTO document for
further information regarding the use of this parameter."
I needed more detailed information for this option so I checked the
official samba-3-howto and it is (now) in chapter 10. See "Chapter 10.
Network Browsing" on
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/NetworkBrowsing.html

More generally speaking, I think that this (and other) manpage should not refer to a numbered chapter in another document (the numbering may change) but more to the chapter's name ("Network Browsing").
