Have two Samba machines used as dfs servers under a windows 2003 dfs domain root. All links on Samba machines point to windows servers. I recently upgraded samba from 3.023 to 3.0.25b-1.el5_1.4. Since then, we have had numerous connection problems and the logs have the following errors. [2007/12/20 15:01:16, 0] lib/util.c:smb_panic(1654) PANIC (pid 1297): internal error [2007/12/20 15:01:16, 0] lib/util.c:log_stack_trace(1758) BACKTRACE: 22 stack frames: #0 smbd(log_stack_trace+0x2d) [0x761b9d] #1 smbd(smb_panic+0x5d) [0x761ccd] #2 smbd [0x74c6ba] #3 [0x23b420] #4 /lib/libc.so.6(strnlen+0x48) [0x306418] #5 smbd(safe_strcpy_fn+0x42) [0x759e92] #6 smbd [0x659ef1] #7 smbd(_dfs_GetInfo+0x288) [0x65a348] #8 smbd [0x658b34] #9 smbd(api_rpcTNP+0x1dd) [0x6a342d] #10 smbd(api_pipe_request+0x19e) [0x6a3aae] #11 smbd [0x69ec93] #12 smbd [0x69f1dc] #13 smbd(write_to_pipe+0x71) [0x69d9b1] #14 smbd [0x58620a] #15 smbd [0x586716] #16 smbd(reply_trans+0x6cf) [0x58753f] #17 smbd [0x5e3600] #18 smbd(smbd_process+0x836) [0x5e4696] #19 smbd(main+0xbdd) [0x83e97d] #20 /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xdc) [0x2afdec] #21 smbd [0x5681d1] [2007/12/20 15:01:16, 0] lib/fault.c:dump_core(181) dumping core in /var/log/samba/cores/smbd
I assume this is not a problem any more with up-to-date versions
