Description Jonathan Steinert 2007-04-30 05:42:52 UTC
Similar to ticket 2008. No way to make symlinks be chased on the server side (disabling this part of or all of unix cifs extensions) via options to mount.

There were patches long ago to do this via a 'nounix' option or similar via mount's -o option... been waiting for a long time to have this feature in smbfs, but that's been declared 'unmaintained', so the requests were ignored.

It's possible that there is an option to do this, but I can't spot it in the manpage at all, and nobody's been able to point me at it so far.

There is now a nounix mount option (and has been for some time).
