On Solaris 2.8, when building 3.0.25rc1, 

Linking bin/smbd
Undefined                       first referenced
 symbol                             in file
unbecome                            smbd/quotas.o
ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to bin/smbd
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
gmake: *** [bin/smbd] Error 1
