Description James Dinkel 2007-02-09 16:18:16 UTC
when you open Computer Management and view Open Files on a Samba file server, open files are not show. Instead, a file called "dummy user" accessed by "\PIPE\samr" shows up.

I am using a Windows XP SP1 fully patched client. The file server is Debian Etch (fully patched yesterday) and Samba is authenticated to a Windows 2000 domain. I believe I have also observed this on an Ubuntu Dapper file server and CentOS 4 file server.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Right-click on "My Computer"
2. Choose "Manage"
3. Expand "System Tools" if not already expanded
4. Expand "Shared Folders"
5. Click on "Open Files"
6. Observer that "Dummy User" shows up instead of the actual open files

This should show the same files as is returned by smbstatus, I believe. I would also be good to be able to right click on an open file and choose "Close Open File" and have samba actually close the open file.

This is fixed in the SAMBA_3_0_25 tree.
