Description Benjamin Riefenstahl 2003-09-09 04:07:53 UTC
I can't find any reference to autogen.sh in the README,
the docs or on the web site. I learned of autogen.sh from
the CVS log entry for the deleted "source/configure".

There is nothing to say. If you run from CVS, then
you have to run autogen.sh first. And if you run
from CVS it is fair to assume that you know about
this kind of thing.

All tarball releases of Samba already the generated
files included.
Comment 2 Benjamin Riefenstahl 2003-09-10 07:03:31 UTC
I respectfully disagree.

I'm talking about places like in docs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf, Appendix 36.
That talks at length about how to get the source from CVS. Skipping other
methods to get the source, next thing you are supposed to enter ./configure,
which doesn't exist.

originally reported against 3.0aph24. Bugzilla spring cleaning.
Removing old alpha versions.
