Description Ryan Saunders 2006-11-02 02:47:33 UTC
I have two machines set up: one runs linux (x86), and is a primary domain controller, using tdbsam as the backend database. The other dual-boots to WinXP (x86) and linux (x64) and is a domain member (each OS has a separate machine account on the PDC.

The XP login works flawlessly. I am able to authenticate under linux using pam_winbind, but whenever I do, I am forced to change my password. Originally, the users had "password never expires" set, so I changed it to a date far in the future (this was mentioned as a workaround for similar sounding bugs in the database), but this appears to have had no effect...I'm still prompted to change my password whenever I log in.

Actually, changing the global password expiration policy on the PDC makes this go away. Perhaps that makes this a duplicate of another bug?
