Description Marc Kaplan 2003-09-08 18:09:44 UTC
This works fine with SP2 and earlier. This is not actually a new problem, I sent
an email to jerry, tridge, jra, and abartlet on July 7th about it. With a trace
attached.

I'd like to attach the trace here, but I can't find a place to attach it :(.
I'll send the email out again, but let me describe the steps to reproduce here:

Prerequisites: Win2k SP4 client and Win2k SP2 or earlier and samba server in
workgroup mode.
1. Create a local user named test on the samba server
2. Create local users named test on the two win2k boxes
3. Via the one with SP4 connect and create a new file
   a. Right click, then Properties->Security->Add
   b. Notice the challange for domain\user
   c. Try authenticating as domain\user with the proper password
Notice that this fails with a credentials error
4. Via the one with pre SP3 do the same thing as 3
   Notice it doesn't fail!

I will re-send the email with the traces...

Marc, I'm open to alternatives, but for now I'm closing this

originally reported against one of the 3.0.0rc[1-4] releases.
Cleaning up non-production versions.
