When I try to add a printer on a Windows XP machine via Start->Run and typing \\server\printer I get a long windows error message ending in "Incorrect Function". Adding the printer from "Printers and Faxes" works fine. Will attach smb.conf and a loglevel=10 logs of the problem occuring.
Created attachment 2174 [details] log.smbd with loglevel=10
Created attachment 2175 [details] log.client with the error occuring
Created attachment 2176 [details] smb.conf
This is samba 3.0.23c on a Gentoo Linux machine compiled with gcc 4.1.1.
Please set 'max log size = 0' for this test. The client log file has been truncated, the interesting parts have been cut off. Thanks, Volker
The new log is 18MB, bugzilla won't let me upload a file of that size, so I posted it at: http://www.cs.mcgill.ca/~chutz/log.client
Any other information needed for this?
This is probably fixed with a newer Samba version. If you still see the error. Please open a new bug with 'debug level = 10' logfiles of the new Samba version 3.5 or 3.6. Thanks!
