Description A. Pohl 2006-09-20 02:18:08 UTC
After upgrading from Samba2->Samba3.0.23b it is impossible to create a new local port in the "add printer port" dialog. Error-msg: "\\perseus\ps2pdf is no valid port-name". Existing printers doesn't work, message: "The syntax of the filename, directory name or the disc-label is wrong". (free translated from german).
With WinXP it works, but not with NT4SP6a.
smb.conf:
[global]
printing = bsd
...
[ps2pdf]
path = /tmp
printable = yes

I want to get a spool-file in /tmp-dir.

This is probably fixed with a newer Samba version. If you still see the error. Please open a new bug with 'debug level = 10' logfiles of the new Samba version 3.5 or 3.6. Thanks!
