Today I've upgraded my Samba server from 3.021c to 3.023 through yum upgrade samba*. I'm running Fedora Core 4 Kernel 2.6.17-1.2142 on this server. After upgrade has been completed, I lost the attributes of ownership and groups. I noticed that the uids/gids have changed for all AD accounts. This means that users can't have total access for their files and no access for some shares. After this, I read from someone on the mailing list that there will be a new release (3.023a) to fix this. Did I read this right?. If not, please let me know how to fix it. I need to solve this issue ASAP before trying to fix it manually for all the 500+ users. Thanks in advance. Richard, please attach your smbd.conf and if possible a copy of the old winbindd_idmap.tdb file. Thanks.

swapping from samba.org rpms to redhat rpms. Our packages use /var/lib/samba/instead of /var/cache/samba/
After upgrade and after the mv's I still can't access my shares, just my home directory. Now, the group name for the share is DOMAIN/share and, if I'm not mistaken, it was just share.
That's not this bug. Please open a new one.
