there is an application running on win2k which will try to create and delete files in samba share. samba is configured in HP server rp4440(HPUX11.11). now the problem is almost every time is is able to do the above things but few times it is showing like the below error message. "Error message: E_01_001_0 \\172.30.1.100\sst_itl\rec\kr\par\KPOD27902xTmp (The network path was not found) " Request message: java.io.BufferedInputStream@13ea9d0 your replies would be very benificial for us. thanks in advance.
3.0.7 is pretty old, could you try with 3.0.22? Thanks, Volker

It could be anything, in particular some hotfix on the client side might have changed behaviour. If you really need to analyze the problem for 3.0.7, you will need to go to a company doing support for Samba. There's plenty of them available under http://samba.org/samba/support/. Volker
