Description Milan Kerslager 2006-03-25 20:46:42 UTC
When browsing ACLs in Windows Explorer, the simple ACL list is empty, only "Special rights" is set even there are standard user ACLs on the directory (ie. user's home directory).

Is there a possibility to map ACLs to the ususal simple Windows form of displaying user rights (ie some combinations of ACLs have simple meaning in Windows GUI)?

The checkbox is also grayed in simple ACL vies in Windows Explorer (this means "the ACLs are inherited") even there is no "inheritance" in detailed right list (sorry I have no English Windows in the box so I don't know how to call options correctly).

The current system works as designed. Please seen the
map acl inhereit option in smb.conf, a discussion of extended
attributes, and default ACLs on directories.

Note that the check boxes appear in the security tab only if
the permissions applies to "This folder, subfolders, & files".

Thank you a lot, Jerry... Samba is a great piece of software!
