Description Taso Hatzi 2006-02-25 19:15:17 UTC
This report applies to 3.0.21c - it may also be applicable to 3.0.21b but I cannot say because I went from 3.0.21a to 3.0.21c.

Host OS is FC3, made (RHEL) RPMS from the tarball.
The following extract illustrates the problem.
Is it intended that smbmount be in /usr/bin or /usr/sbin?

# pwd
/sbin
# ls -l mount*
-rwxr-xr-x  1 root root 21888 Feb 25 19:42 mount.cifs
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root    18 Feb 25 21:54 mount.smb -> /usr/sbin/smbmount
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root    18 Feb 25 21:54 mount.smbfs -> /usr/sbin/smbmount
# which smbmount
/usr/bin/smbmount
#

smbmount is no longer included in current Samba versions.
Cleaning up database.

I think it depends on the vendors where they put the files.
In the packages I know, it was located in /usr/bin/.
