problem reported listing files with german characters
via 'dir' from cmd.exe

Also a second parallel report on FreeBSD of files missing 
from explorer.exe window.

Thomas,  what be really helpful would be a tarball of 
the directory tree.  We don't need the file contents (files can 
be 0 bytes), just the names.

sorry for the same, cleaning up the database to prevent unecessary reopens of bugs.
