Description Jacob Levine 2005-05-26 02:10:26 UTC
I downloaded the most recent stable version of Samba (3.0.14a) and had no
trouble installing it, apart from a minor error in the docs provided with it.
The file at samba-3.0.14a/docs/htmldocs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/compiling.html
contains two references each to the full paths of smbd and nmbd.

In my installation executed with "configure" on Solaris 9, these paths did not
match the actual paths on the system.

The docs give the paths:
/usr/local/samba/bin/
After installing on my system the programs were found in:
/usr/local/samba/sbin/

The online docs also contain this error at the URL given in the URL field above.
