When I use the command "smbclient //fenlason-laptop/cdrive Administrator -U FENLASON-LAPTOP\\Administrator -c ls", it hangs, while spamming my network with traffic. This behavior started with 3.0.13, and is still present in 3.0.15pre2 patched up to svn 6911 (latest as of yesterday). Reverting the change to line 210 in libsmb/clilist.c (see attached patch) causes it to stop hanging, but directory listings are truncated.

Created attachment 1237 [details] ethereal capture of smbclient hanging. The original capture is much much longer, but it appears to be looping.
Created attachment 1238 [details] Patch that prevents hanging but truncates directory listings konqueror on RHEL-3 doesn't want to upload patches today. Let me try a different browser.
Created attachment 1239 [details] ethereal capture of smbclient hanging Maybe mozilla will be able to upload this.
This fix is already in SVN so I'm going to close this out. There is a more general problem with getting directory listings from a FAT drive from W2K but I think I have a fix for that one. Jeremy.
sorry for the same, cleaning up the database to prevent unecessary reopens of bugs.
