Samba 3.0.14a from samba.org
Accounts in LDAP directory

Clients Win2k (SP 3 & 4)

In the config file smb.conf, a line like "logon path = \\borea\profils\etu-%G"
works fine. But, when using a variable in the path of an included file, like
"include = /etc/samba/%G/smb.conf" it doesn't work till the user logged in once
on the client.

If the profile of the user is not in the "users profiles" tab of Windows, the
config file is not include. If this user is present, the config file is include.

Noticed nothing abvious in logs (even level 10) or Windows registry.

(By the way, if I use variable %U in "include = /etc/samba/%U/smb.conf", smbd
takes more and more resources and even testparm freezes on "Load smb config
files from /etc/samba/smb.conf")
