Windows Client not update the attribute userPassword with lpsam passdb backend, 
when password change, but the attributes sambaLMPassword and sambaNTPassord yes.

in smb.conf

passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://127.0.0.1/
ldap passwd sync = Yes
encrypt passwords = yes

what directory server are you using ?  This works correctly for me.
