The Samba-Bugzilla – Bug 2500
Mount a Windows 2003 Server share doesn't work
Last modified: 2005-03-21 06:23:50 UTC
When trying to mount a Windows 2003 Server share (mount -t smbfs ...) it isn't
available in Linux. If you try to access the mount point you get the message
that the directory doesn't exist.
If you try the same thing with Samba 3.0.2 it works perfectly. We also tried
the mount with Samba 3.0.10, but it still didn't work.
sorry. we don't maintain smbfs. You will need to either talk to the
smbfs kernel module maintainer.
Or possibly test the cifs fs module (which is under active develment).
See http://linux-cifs.samba.org/ for more details.
