When a Solaris directory contains a file named '*', the MS-W-XP explorer dont
show  all the files of the mounted directory. 

Solaris 2.8

please retest against 3.0.11.  Samba 2.2.x reached EOL on 
Oct 1, 2004.

Same problem with 3.0.10 release. 
I haven't yet install the 3.0.11 release
