As I wrote in the summary -F option (selective backup) and -n (not buffered) are not documented yet in smbclient(1).
--tar F is now documented. --tar cn is not. These are not primary flags as TAKAHASHI Motonobu suggests was the case in 2005, but part of a tar option string following -T/--tar. The 'n' option now means 'dry run', not 'not buffered'.
