Description Jym Mealey 2005-01-14 11:43:23 UTC
I am using IIS running on a windows 2000 server which draws its information
from a fedora core 3 NAS. There is a problem in which IIS is not notified
consistantly of file changes that occur on the fedora NAS.

Upon some research I came across an message by Hal Roberts,
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2003-January/026557.html
in which he described this problem that exists within Samba. After contacting
him directly he indicated that the problem has never been resolved.

When we alter files on the NAS sometimes IIS does see the change, other times
it may take several minutes or hours. I am currently using Samba version 3.0.9-
1.fc3 and very much need this problem resolved.

notify code was been completely rewritten. This should not be a problem any longer.
