Description MCSE+RCE 2005-01-09 23:24:54 UTC
Hi,

I have installed samba-3.0.11pre1 on a Fedora Core 3 server. It is joined a
Windows 2003 ADS environment.

Drive mapping/file sharing are ok if the computers are in the same LAN where
the samba server reside. Webinfo -u/-g are working properly.

But when we are trying to map a drive from a dialup connection through a RAS
server from a remote site.

The windows client returned following errors:
***
System error 1210 has occurred.

The format of the specified computer name is invalid.
***

Since then we downgrade it to samba-3.0.10-2. Everything is working again.

Cheers,
Paul

please retest 3.0.11 and reopen if the bug still exists.
Also, please attach a network trace or level 10 smbd debug
log if you find the issue is still present in the stable release.
Comment 2 Gerald (Jerry) Carter (dead mail address) 2005-02-07 07:34:55 UTC
originally reported against 3.0.11pre1. Moving back to version to 3.0.10
to remove preX and rcX versions.
