Description maik 2005-01-06 01:19:14 UTC
Hi,#

i'm trying to write to an read-only share as "write list" user but only get read
only access. "security = SHARE"

i want to have some users have write permissions on one share and all other
users should be granted read access only.

I'm using Samba 3.0.10. It only works with "security = USER".
It worked well with Samba 2.2.12

thanks in advance

maik

security = share in really incompatible with usernames.
Not going to fix this one. Suggest you migrate to security = user.
Comment 2 maik 2005-01-07 02:13:04 UTC
But how can somebody connect (read-only) to the share *without* any username /
password with "securtiy = USER".
Comment 3 maik 2005-01-07 02:20:27 UTC
How can i browse the shares with "security = USER" without providing an username
/ password.
