Description Frank Giessler 2004-12-16 07:46:35 UTC
I'm mot sure whether this is not an ntlm_auth issue. The following hosts are
involved:

STENDAL: PDC, Samba 2.2.12, Solaris 9, Sparc
MOSKAU: domain member, Samba 3.0.10, Solaris 9, Sparc

The problem arrises when another workstation (tested OS/2 [name: GERA] and
WinXP) tries to connect to MOSKAU, e.g.

net view \\MOSKAU

Further explanation will follow together with the attachments.

Please note the include directive at the end of the [global] section.

In this case, a fitting file /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf.gera does NOT exist.

Now /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf.gera does exist and contains nothing
(filesize 0 byte). The same happens if the included file is not empty. Now I
get

NT_STATUS_NOLOGON_WORKSTATION_TRUST_ACCOUNT

Besides the creation of the file to be included nothing else was changed!

Anybody know what's going on?

You need to set 'netbios name = MOSKAU' in the smb.conf file.
