It's impossible to start more than one Samba daemons on one machine without
setting a different PID dir in the second, third, ... config file.

Proposed fix

Wiht this fix we use PIDDIR/daemon_name.pid if we use the default config file.
If we use for example /etc/samba/nuernberg.conf,
PIDDIR/daemon_name-nuernberg.conf.pid is used.
Comment 2 Lars Müller 2004-11-17 12:17:57 UTC
I used component nmbd as I didn't find a general daemon entry. But this bug is
valid for all Samba daemons.

Some crazy Samba developer added the fix to the 3_0 branch. IIRC I didn't liked something with this. But let us close this defect as long as no one comolains.

The good this is: svn blame doesn't blame me. :))
