Samba-3.0.0beta1 from Debian's "unstable" packages. Maintainers already notified, suggested to post here. Recently upgraded from Samba-2.2.8a. Server role: PDC + FileServer. Side Note: inconsistent "character mapping" (wXP<->Linux) behaviour appreciated: After client rejoined the domain, WXP "did not find" some folders with accented characters in their names; some renaming/moving of data fixed it. Probably unrelated -- will keep observing. --8<----8<----- The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action, was called for pid 21241 (/usr/sbin/smbd). Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows the state of the program at the time the error occured. You are encouraged to submit this information as a bug report to Debian. For information about the procedure for submitting bug reports , please see http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting or the reportbug(1) manpage. can this be reproduced against beta3?
Maybe some more information about how this was observed originally? smb.conf?
not enough information and beta1 was a 1,000's of lines of code ago.
originally reported against 3.0.0beta1. CLeaning out non-production release versions.
