Description George Pantazis 2004-09-04 23:55:56 UTC
I run Fedora Core 2 on a Toshiba box, and after upgrading to 3.0.6-2 I have
huge delay when trying to access my home folder on it through XP SP2.
I am able to mount with no delay from my Cobalt Raq4.

The system becomes unstable after I try to map the share and after some
minutes it finally maps. the system while waiting becomes unresponsive.

On the WINXP the only 3rd party Apps that directly use the network are:
F-Secure (Disabled the personal firewall)
(Disabled the WINXP Firewall)
Filezila Server
Zaurus Conection Manager
[No Execute enabled for all applications(x86-64)]

I also noticed that while trying to map the share I am not able to initiate
any outgoing connection e.x. telnet to the samba server or to any other
machine of mine, but after about 1 minute i finally get access, although the
explorer still waits for the samba server, if in the other hand I already have
loged into one or more of my other boxes, I am able to continue using them.

After I manage to view the "shared" files/directories, I am able to go down a
dir to all its subdirectories, and up again without any impact, but when i go
up to the root of the share, I have to wait again, for the same time.

after a : net statistics workstation : I got

please retest against 3.0.11 and reopen if you believe a Samba bug still exists.

sorry for the same, cleaning up the database to prevent unecessary reopens of bugs.
