Hi to all, I have a Fedora Core 2 installed on my company laptop, with Samba 3.0.3-5 release. All W2k3 shares could be mounted using mount.cifs syntax. Kerberos5 works great.... My Laptop is corrctly registered into ADS Domain (with net join ....) but I can't use winbind due to this errors.... ------------------------------------- with "wbinfo -u", I get: Error looking up domain users with "wbinfo -g", I get e list of only LOCAL Windows MAchine Groups (no Domain's groups and with 'BUILTIN' domain name...) with "wbinfo -t", the shared secret is ok. ------------------------------------- Without mapping UID to SID I can't do any kinda automation. These are the winbindd logs, while performing wbinfo -u command: ads_connect for domain ELIS failed: Transport endpoint is not connected [2004/08/25 12:40:00, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:ads_cached_connection(81) ads_connect for domain ELIS failed: Transport endpoint is not connected [2004/08/25 12:40:00, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_group.c:winbindd_getgroups(1029) user 'root' does not exist [2004/08/25 12:45:00, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:ads_cached_connection(81) ads_connect for domain ELIS failed: Transport endpoint is not connected [2004/08/25 12:45:00, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_group.c:winbindd_getgroups(1029) user 'root' does not exist [2004/08/25 12:49:19, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:ads_cached_connection(81) ads_connect for domain ELIS failed: Transport endpoint is not connected [2004/08/25 12:50:00, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:ads_cached_connection(81) ads_connect for domain ELIS failed: Transport endpoint is not connected [2004/08/25 12:50:00, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_group.c:winbindd_getgroups(1029) user 'root' does not exist while these are the log's line during wbinfo -g command: [2004/08/25 12:52:52, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:ads_cached_connection(81) ads_connect for domain ELIS failed: Transport endpoint is not connected (I have also used the command wbinfo -a .... and the user auth was done corrctly, but the problem still exsists). Thanks, Emilio
please retest with Samba 3.0.6 (RPMS are available at http://download.samba.org/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/). If the problem persists please attach level 10 debug log to this reoprt.
actually, you might want to twait until 3.0.7 (or apply the winbind_getpwnam_v1.patch at http://samba.org/~jerry/patches/post-3.0.6/)
no response in a couple of months. closing.
sorry for the same, cleaning up the database to prevent unecessary reopens of bugs.
