Description Luc Lalonde 2004-08-17 19:52:30 UTC
Hello Folks,

The pdbedit tool seems to use the 'Historical' atributes that are now deprecated
in the samba.schema shipped with Samba.

When I used this command to import my old SMBPASSWD file into LDAP I get error
messages complaining about missing attributes. I had to uncomment then in the
samba.schema:

attributetype:
*************

lmPassword
ntPassword
acctFlags
pwdLastSet
logonTime
logoffTime
kickoffTime
pwdCanChange
pwdMustChange
homeDrive
scriptPath
profilePath
userWorkstations
smbHome
domain
rid
primaryGroupID

objectclass:
************

smbPasswordEntry
sambaAccount
smbPasswordEntry

I know this is a quick fix... I'll try to delve into the pdbedit source to see
if I can figure out how to put the proper references...

Bye.

Please ignore this report.

I compiled with '--with-ldapsam' instead of '--with-ldap'.

Very sorry to have wasted your time ;-(

sorry for the same, cleaning up the database to prevent unecessary reopens of bugs.
