With samba 3.0.x the use of quotes in the parameter logon path, like in: logon path = "\\server\profiles\%U" Makes windows 2000 return an error stating that it could not create/locate the user profile, probably because the path or syntax is incorrect. Removing the quotes and the profile is created/used correctly. I´m writting this one just to ask you to update the smb.conf man page accordingly. If it matters, I´m using samba 3.0.4 with openldap, aided by smbldap-tools.
I have added a note to the man page entry altering users to this pitfall. Thanks. - JHT
