/etc/secrets.tdb is not up to date when initiating the
service samba.

Ok
For example in version 3.02a

ls -l /etc/secrets.tdb
-rw-------    1 root     root         8192 Mai 25 22:47 /etc/secrets.tdb

[root@samba /root]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/samba stop
Desligando samba:                                       [  OK  ]
[root@samba /root]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/samba start
Iniciando samba:                                        [  OK  ]

ls -l /etc/secrets.tdb
-rw-------    1 root     root         8192 Mai 28 15:11 /etc/secrets.tdb

in another server upgrading from samba v3.0.2a to v3.0.4 it does not occur 
more.

ls -l /etc/secrets.tdb
-rw-------    1 root     root         8192 Mai 25 17:43 /etc/secrets.tdb

nothing to indicate a Samba source bug.  What is not working exactly?
Are you sure that both installed version you tested are looking at the
same secrets.tdb ?
