Samba client sending larger payload with NTLM based authentication

Product : samba
Version : 4.5.16
Component : libsmbclient.so.0.2.3
Hardware : x64
OS: CentOS Linux 7 (Core)

Our smb client is based on ‘libsmbclient.so.0.2.3’ from the samba library - ‘samba-4.5.16-gcc63’. What we have observed is, sometime it sends large payload (anything from 16000 to 23400 bytes) for "Session Setup Request" being sent to Samba Server. And that Samba server crashes because of that large payload for "Session Setup Request". Here NTLM based authentication is used to Samba server.

Hello Arjun,
traceback showing where smbd crashed, smb.conf, logs at time of crash and coredump would be required to uncover the problem area.
