Samba HOWTO doesn't seem to answer the questions "What are the prerequisities for Samba server to allow mapping of it's shares from remote clients where different username (and password) is used for the mapping than the one used for logging into the workstation?"

This situation arises for example when one maps shares from trusted domain.

This is a Windows-issue, not a Samba one.
