Created attachment 12020 [details] terminal o/p of request fron bugzilla staff I am running mint 17.3 and accessing shared folders/files on a windows 2000 server. Using Samba 2:4.1.6 I can see and access all the folders and files on the shares. When I upgrade Samba to 2:4.3.8 I can no longer access the files. I can see the folders but when I dbl click to access them I keep getting a windows asking for a password. This bug was initially reported on Bugzilla as #618091 and was closed as not a gvfs bug. Attached are the data logs I was asked to send to that site for investigation. My system is X64 mint 17.3 kernel 4.5.0 and windows 2000 server.

Just wondering if anyone is looking into bug...?
please try the patches from #11849 or just update to 4.3.9. I guess this will fix your problem.
Not being very well versed in linux...somewhat of a noob, can you point me to a set of instructions to apply the .diff patch or install the 4.3.9 package. I have never compiled a source file before. Thank you for your time and patience in tis matter.
