I am running mint 17.3 and accessing shared folders/files on a windows 2000 server. Using Samba 2:4.1.6 I can see and access all the folders and files on the shares. When I upgrade Samba to 2:4.3.8 I can no longer access the files. I can see the folders but when I dbl click to access them I keep getting a windows asking for a password.
This bug was initially reported on Bugzilla as #618091 and was closed as not a gvfs bug. Attached are the data logs I was asked to send to that site for investigation.
My system is X64 mint 17.3 kernel 4.5.0 and windows 2000 server.

please try the patches from #11849 or just update to 4.3.9. I guess this will fix your problem.

Not being very well versed in linux...somewhat of a noob, can you point
me to a set of instructions to apply the .diff patch or install the
4.3.9 package. I have never compiled a source file before.
Thank you for your time and patience in tis matter.
